Basic Manufacturing/Shipyard
Training &Techniques
The Basic Manufacturing/Shipyard Training class is designed to assist students with the necessary basic skills to enter employment in the shipbuilding and manufacturing industry. Students learn industry related math, blueprint reading, ability to measure parts, read and understand shop manuals, drill, grind and fabricate subassemblies, welding and applications most commonly used in a shipyard environment. Upon successful completion, students able to utilize their knowledge to obtain entry-level positions in manufacturing industry with wages ranging from $10.00 to $20.00 per hour. Upon completion, graduates qualify for many types of entry-level positions, some of which are listed below.
· Assemblers
· Ship Fitters
· Electrician Technician Helper
· Welder Helper
· Outfitter
This program phase is a 5-week intensive "Hands On" work simulated environment. Industry-experienced instructors who care about your future provide the Program Training.
