Applications Green Technology: Mr. Loveall has over 30 years’ experience in the solar energy field as a licensed solar contractor for 15 years, and 10 years as an energy analyst and inspector with San Diego Gas & Electric. He has also served on the state board of directors as vice-president of California Solar Energies Association and president of the local San Diego chapter of CalSEIA. Currently Mr. Loveall has a California Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in subjects: Building Trades / Construction and Welding.
This is an entry level, interactive course combining academic and hands on experience for a career in the Solar Energy Applications industry. Introduction to Solar Energy Markets and Applications that pertain to both solar thermal (hot water) and solar photovoltaic (electrical) systems; beginning with the fundamentals of site surveys, and system components you will have three practical hands on labs to apply what you have learned. Lab 1 includes solar thermal hot water, pool and space heating applications. Lab 2 provides a residential electrical experience to install photovoltaic modules and system components such as inverters, charge controls and batteries. Lab 3 will introduce you to servicing, repairing and maintaining a solar energy system. These skills may assist students in the solar energy industry. |
