  1. CTS assist interested applicants with employment life skills related to their chosen career path.
  2. You may participate in our Job Readiness program to assist them in transitioning to employment. Our group is scheduled to meet on a regular basis to speak openly about job searches and career advancement with the purpose of supporting the success of its members. We wish to motivate, inspire, and provide emotional support to both the unemployed and under-employed. We want to instill confidence, self-esteem, and a greater, proactive approach in the job search process.  We gather to facilitate discussions on developing solutions to overcome challenges and obstacles in a competitive workforce, sharing our successes and setbacks.

We have them focus on the personal attributes which employers are looking for such as:

  • Great communication skills
  • Positive attitudes
  • Interview skills
  • Professionalism
  • Strong work ethics
  • Comradery and teamwork
  • Follow workplace rules
  • Practice good oral and written communications
We keep up to date case management records, documenting our efforts to help our participants with removal of barriers. We assist students with utilizing city wide social services when appropriate. Students also get extra support from experience adult mentors to fit individual needs.
The work shop also includes:  Internet use, emailing, individual consultation, completing paper and online applications, cover letters and using office equipment.  A review how social media such as Facebook and linkin can help their career and get them employed.  We focus on Professional Attire and mock Interviewing.  We consider producing a portfolio with the student to present to employers or Job Fairs.  GED preparation available at both sites.
